Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism of Children

Baptism is usually conducted as part of our normal Sunday worship.  If you would like to discuss having your child Baptised at any of our four churches please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be happy to come and see you for a chat.

Baptism of Adults

We are happy to baptise Adults, in the normal course of events we would begin with a chat, then undertake a short course  to teach you a little more about your faith.  Baptism for adults is usually undertaken in conjunction with a confirmation service, but not always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested.

Confirmation is usually considered to be the rite of passage where Christians reaffirm their baptism vows and take responsibility for their own Christian lives.  Until confirmation it is not usual for Christians to take communion.

Services usually take place a couple of times a year, and the confirmation is carried out by a bishop, who lays hands on the candidate and blesses them, calling down the Holy Spirit.  It is a very special moment in the life of a Christian.
